The Flow of Presence Academy is an international Academy of philosophical and interreligious dialogue and lays claim to centuries of continuous existence of the human search and its experiences of openness to the divine Presence. Inspired by the lives and works of the German philosopher of experience and symbolisation, Eric Voegelin and the Dutch thinker and mystic Etty Hillesum, we encourage and develop reflection upon the relationship between human consciousness and history in order to articulate a comprehensive understanding of the overall range of available historical material concerning the human, spiritual and philosophical search of the human person.

Dorothea Coetsier-Fuhrmann, Dipl.Theol., is a German theologian and the secretary-general of the Flow of Presence Academy. In 2007 she finished her Dilpomstudiemgang Theology in Frankfurt/Main at the Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule Sankt Georgen. She specializes in the original experiences of the Presence found in Biblical writings and in the three monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Her interests include the Biblical Scriptures; Ancient History; Spirituality; Women’s and Gender Studies; creative writing, poetry and Etty Hillesum Studies.
